Helliden Castle, on the western slope of Mount Helliden, with view over the town Tidaholm, was built by Hans Henrik von Essen in 1858 as a manor. It was later rebuilt by his son Alfred.
Helliden was a meeting place of many people and organisations. Oscar II, Gustav V and many other royalties visited the castle. Their signatures are engraved in the pillars outside the main entrance to the castle.[1]
